The Haunted Tera Verra House

James used to work as a contractor in Bangalore. Recently, he completed four construction projects within a year, which led him to secure a government contract. Interestingly, the contract was relatively small, yet he was allotted more money and time. The task under the contract was simply to demolish an abandoned house. Therefore, he thought it appropriate to bring along a demolition expert named Ramanand.

As soon as he parked his car near the Terra Vera house, Ramanand became visibly nervous. His eyes closed shut, and he began to stutter. Sweat dripped from his face. Concerned, James handed him a bottle of water and asked for the reason behind his distress. With trembling voice, Ramanand explained that the house was haunted, and people were afraid to even pass by it. After revealing this, he fell silent. There was a brief moment of silence in the car for about two minutes, which James broke with hearty laughter. With a chuckle, James remarked, “Well, it’s a dilapidated house, so ghosts are expected, right?” Saying this, he proceeded towards the house alone, not waiting for Ramanand, who was too scared to even get out of the car.

When James entered the house, he saw that it had completely fallen into ruins, and the furniture placed there had become very old. Many paintings adorned the walls of the house, but one painting caught his attention, a portrait of two sisters. For some reason, James couldn’t take his eyes off this painting. Suddenly, he heard a sound, as if someone was playing the piano. Turning around, he saw a piano in the room near the hall, but there was no one playing it. As he looked back at the painting, he felt dizzy. Now, the painting only showed one girl. Then he heard the piano sound again. Approaching it, he saw the piano keys playing by themselves, with no one there. James got scared and immediately ran towards the main gate, but it suddenly shut in front of him, and from behind, a dark figure covered him completely.

James had become unconscious. When he regained consciousness, he noticed that he had many wounds and his face had been badly scratched. James couldn’t find any way out from there. Suddenly, he spotted a window in one of the rooms on the first floor. He thought that jumping out of that window might save his life. Though he was terrified to go further into the house, he mustered up the courage and went upstairs. As he reached the room, a foul smell hit him, and what he saw shook him to his core. On the bed lay the decapitated body of a girl. Then something fell near his feet—it was the severed head of the same girl. His heart almost stopped at the sight. Suddenly, the headless body stood up on its own and reattached its head to its body. Then it started laughing horrifically towards James. As James attempted to retreat for his life, he slipped and fell out of the window. Meanwhile, Ramanand, who was waiting in the car, saw James falling and rushed to save him. Seeing the terrifying woman at the window, Ramanand quickly picked up James and took him to the nearest hospital. Due to the severe head injury, James remained unconscious for several days. When he finally regained consciousness after two months, Ramanand explained to him that the house was haunted. Two sisters named Dalce and Verra used to live there. Dalce was a piano teacher, and Verra was an English teacher. One day, Dalce’s decapitated body was found in her room under mysterious circumstances, and her murderer was never identified. Fearing for her life, Verra left the house shortly after. Since then, no one dared to enter the haunted house.

In 2014, the house was finally demolished, but James never fully recovered from the incident.
