This is the story of Ramesh, who is a working professional. One day, he got frustrated with his job and quit. This made his family angry, and living in their own house became difficult for him. His family’s taunts made his life a living hell, to the point where they even sold his bed. His elder brother gave him some money to buy a new bed, but with that little amount, he couldn’t buy anything. Not even an old letter.

When he went to inquire in the market, he found nothing but disappointment in his hands. Then, after staring at him for a long time, a man approached him and said that he had an old letter which he could sell for that amount. The letter didn’t seem too old at first glance. Ramesh happily brought it home and began thinking that he wouldn’t have to sleep on the ground anymore. That night, as he slept on the letter, he felt like someone was pulling him from behind, as if he were falling into a pit. He woke up in a cold sweat, terrified. Thinking it was just a bad dream, he went back to sleep. But he felt a terrifying sensation again, as if someone had grabbed his throat and legs, rendering him immobile. Ramesh screamed in fear, and all his family rushed into his room, thinking he was having a nightmare, and they told him to go back to sleep.

The next morning, when Ramesh woke up, he thought it was all just a dream. Once again, he lay down on the bed that night, but this time, sleep eluded him. However, as soon as he fell asleep, the same terrifying incidents began to happen again. He felt like someone had grabbed his entire body, making it difficult for him to move. His whole body started aching, and he began groaning in pain. Then, he heard a voice. It was the voice of an old woman angrily asking why he was sleeping on her bed. Ramesh opened his eyes and saw wounds all over his body. Terrified, he quickly jumped off the bed onto the ground. The next day, he moved the bed outside the house. After a while, when he returned, he saw that the letter was no longer there. He realized that someone else had taken it. But the next day, he saw a man throwing the same letter back to that spot, angrily muttering to himself. Ramesh understood that he hadn’t just had bad dreams. What happened to him was real.

He thought to sleep on the letter again to find out the truth, unaware that it would be his biggest mistake. As soon as he slept on the letter that night, he felt as if the letter was floating in the air and there was fire around him. Ramesh started screaming in fear, but it was of no use. Then he saw a terrifying old woman sitting beside him, and his sleep broke. But now, there was no one there. Ramesh understood that the letter belonged to an old woman who was no longer in this world but still preferred to sleep in that place. He returned the letter to its owner and told him everything. The man told Ramesh that the letter belonged to his late mother, who had recently passed away. He placed the letter in a room so that his mother could rest on it.
