This story is about the New Year Party Murder Mystery of Jhanvi kukreja. On the night of 31st December 2021, while the whole world was celebrating New Year’s Eve, 19-year-old Jhanvi Kukreja, who lived in Mumbai, was also very happy because it was her father’s birthday that day. She had thrown a small party at her house with her closest friends and some neighbors. After the party ended, Jhanvi went to her friend Yash’s house for a New Year’s party with her friends. Although the new year party was supposed to start at 9 pm, it got delayed for some reason and began at 11 pm. The new year party was supposed to continue until 1 am, but when Jhanvi didn’t return home, her father called her at 1:30 am, but her phone was busy at the time. Her parents called her again at 2:30 am and then at 3 am, but Jhanvi didn’t pick up.
Jhanvi’s parents thought she must have gone to her closest friends’ house and there was no need to worry. Then, at 5 am, Jhanvi’s father Prakash received a call that changed their world. A man on the call informed Prakash that Jhanvi had been in an accident and asked him to come to the hospital quickly. Shortly after that call, Prakash received another call from Diya’s father Samir, Jhanvi’s childhood friend, who also told him that Jhanvi had been in an accident and was in Baba hospital while Diya was in Induja hospital. Samir then asked Prakash to go to the police station immediately. The question arises if Diya and Jhanvi were together, why were they admitted to different hospitals, and why did Samir ask Prakash to go to the police station instead of the hospital.
Upon reaching the police station and hearing what the police told Jhanvi’s parents, their souls trembled. Jhanvi had passed away, and her body was in the hospital morgue. Her death was caused by fractures to her skull, ribs, and arm. Jhanvi’s parents were astonished to learn that all of Jhanvi’s friends were present at the new year party, yet none of them had informed them about Jhanvi’s accident. The police interrogated all the kids present at the party, revealing that Jhanvi, Diya, and Shree were sitting separately. Suddenly, Jhanvi became upset, left, and was heard crying on the phone.
When she returned, she witnessed Shree and Diya engaging in physical intimacy, which broke her heart, because Shree was boyfriend of Jhanvi, leading to an argument between the three. Jhanvi left the party after the altercation. Around 2:30 am, as some people were leaving the party, they found Jhanvi’s body on the ground floor. During the search of Diya and Shree’s house, the police found Diya’s party dress stained with Jhanvi’s blood. According to the police, Diya and Shree’s argument escalated to the point where they fought on the fifth floor, leading to physical violence.
Eventually, they brought Jhanvi to the second floor and pushed her from there. The forensic team found traces of Diya’s blood on every floor of the building, along with fingerprints from an unknown person. Based on the evidence, the police arrested Diya and Shree, although they still deny their involvement. They claim that Shree was not Jhanvi’s boyfriend; she was waiting for someone else at the party and left after crying on the phone. Call records reveal that Jhanvi was talking to her friend Parnika, expressing her desire not to lose Diya and Shree’s friendship. Jhanvi’s mother stated that Jhanvi had mentioned having a boyfriend whom she would introduce to them soon. This case is still pending in court, with many unanswered questions, such as how Jhanvi’s blood ended up on Shree’s clothes if he didn’t commit the murder and why nobody at the party heard or knew about Jhanvi’s attack. The mystery of who Jhanvi’s boyfriend was and who killed her, whether it was Shree, Diya, or the unknown person whose fingerprints were found by the police, remains unsolved to this day.
