A four-year-old boy named Raghuram was left in a monastery by Anand Mohan and was promised that Sita will come to take care of him. Anand makes Ram promise that he too will take care of Sita in return.
Years later, V. Sita Mahalakshmi an ambitious and successful, yet arrogant and selfish businesswoman, who manipulates people for her own gain. One day, she meets MLA Basavaraju to help her in evacuating a slum from the land she purchased to build a mall. In return, Basava asked Sita to marry him (though he was already married), which she declined. He then asked her to be in a live-in relationship for a month, to which she agreed and signed a contract. The slum was removed from the land and Sita partied with her staff, where Basava arrived, but she refused to honor the deal. Irritated by her behavior, Basava started putting business pressure on Sita by bribing or intimidating the officers into stopping the mall she was working on and threatening the man who gave Rs. 25 crore to Sita for her business development to make her repay the loan immediately.
During this time, Sita learnt that her estranged father Anand had passed away, so she planned to inherit ₹5000 crores worth of property owned by him to pay off the loan. The lawyer revealed that Anand left only a mangalsutra in her name, and she was shocked upon knowing that the property was transferred to a person named Ram, who stayed in Bhutan. With her friend Chakram and PA Rupa, Sita travelled to Bhutan and met Ram, who was eagerly waiting for her. Ram was very intelligent, but a kid at heart and always remembered the promise that he made to his uncle that he must take care of Sita, and she will take care of him. He always wore two watches in which one showed his heartbeat, wanting everything to be as per the timing. Sita threatened Ram to give her property back, and in a helpless situation, she asked him to come with her without informing the monastery.
The police, arranged by Basava, try to arrest Sita for forgery, but she kept escaping from them with Ram, Chakram, and Rupa. Sita asked Ram to sign the property papers so that the property will be legally accepted by Ram, and then she could asked him to put it back in her name. Sita asked Ram to marry her but had Rupa gave her a fake call, which she used to create a scene that the police were looking for her. Ram signed the papers immediately to save Sita, and she rushed to the bank to withdraw the money, planning to leave Ram behind. However, the bank couldn’t authorize the transfer without Sita providing legal proof that Ram was her husband. The police found and tried to arrest Sita, but Ram saved her again. However, she remained indifferent to him throughout the ordeal, upsetting Chakram and Rupa.
Later, Sita reached the court with help from Ram, Chakram, Rupa, and some localities to acquire bail. Afterwards, her father’s friend and a legal advisor to the family revealed Ram’s connection to her: Sita’s egoistic mother refused to give her jewelry for mortgage to Anand to help started his business. Anand’s sister (Ram’s mother) then offered her jewelry, including her mangalsutra, to her brother. When Ram’s parents die in an accident, Anand brought Ram into his home, and during this time, his business took off. Sita’s mother celebrates with lavish jewelry for herself and her daughter, but Anand yelled that since the business formed because of his sister’s financial support, the property rights belonged to Ram. Anand revealed that Sita could wear the jewelry as she was Ram’s wife. This outrages Sita’s mother and she started abusing Ram, prompting Anand to leave him in the monastery to protect him. Hearing this, Sita decided to repay the jewels given by Ram’s mother as a loan.
Meanwhile, Basava’s men attacked Ram. Sita tried to save him but got beaten by a goon. Ram fought with all the goons, but Basava shot him, demanding that Sita must surrender to him to save Ram. Sita eventually agreed to Basava’s terms, but when seeing her crying, Ram woke up and fought with Basava, who shot him again. Sita and Ram managed to escape and while she was taking Ram to the hospital, he requested Sita to take him to the bank so that he could signed the property papers before he died. However, Sita finally declared that she needed him and not the property. Basava attacked the car and they were both injured. The monk in the monastery sent one of his disciples to safeguard Ram, and he arrived on time with the ambulance.
Two weeks later, Sita regained consciousness and rushed to see Ram. The monk told that Ram had died in the accident and scolded Sita over how she treated him. Sita tearfully left the monastery, remorseful that she was the one who killed Ram. Ram came to his room in the monastery and then sensed that Sita had arrived rushed to see her (as the monk was lying). Sita also sensed that the monk lied to her as no one in the monastery was awared of the incidents that happened in Hyderabad. Later, she reconciled with Ram, and he married her. Basava was shot by his wife, saving Sita. Sita and Ram also returned the house papers back to the people of the slum.
